6 Month Mark

We have hit the 6 month mark. It is hard to believe. It has gone by so fast. As you can tell, my belly is definitely getting bigger. The girls have become extremely active in the past week or so. They are constantly kicking me. The movements are now visible to Matt.

The girls are very competitive. They kick one right after other. You can watch my belly go up and down on each side repetitively. It is so amazing and funny at the same time. They particularly like bath time. It must be the feeling of the warm water as that is their most active part of the day. I hope they like bath time after arriving as well.

I am having a lot of trouble sleeping. I now know what all the pregnant people before me were complaining about. I feel like an 80 year old woman. My hips, lower back and upperback all hurt badly at the same time. No position is comfortable and there aren't enough pillows in the world to comfort me. Needless to say Matt is dealing with a moaning and groaning wife at night. He is such a sport! If anyone has good suggestions to help me sleep, I am open to all of them and Matt would probably pay you!

The next three months should be interesting as I am sure the pains will only get worse. The good thing is that when I see my little girls all of it won't matter. Good things don't come easy. I would take the pain for the entire 9 months to have my little girls.

We are beginning the work on the girls nursery. Grandpa Benny and his friends are building our nursery furniture and custom wall unit. We are so lucky that they are so talented and willing to help us out. Plus, our girls will always have furniture built by Grandpa!!! Matt thinks I am going overboard but I want this nursery to be unique and amazing! We have waited so long for these two little blessings and I want everything to be perfect. Aunt Shannon came over last night to help me design a built-in shelving unit and window seat for the nursery. I love what we came up with. I think it is going to look awesome. Thanks Aunt Shannon!

Week 23

We are back home again in Indiana! The move went well and we are beginning to settle into our new house. We love it and are so happy to be closer to family and friends again. We are slowly getting accustomed to our new surroundings. I think I am going to really like living in Noblesville.

We met our new doctor today. He is a really great guy. He seems very calm and comforting which I like. He spent a lot of time with us today and did a quick ultrasound to check on the girls. I was very thankful for the ultrasound since the past couple days I have had high anxiety that something was wrong with the girls. They were not kicking and moving around at all. I guess they are worn out from the move. The ultrasound showed them moving around and their hearts beating away. Sophia's heart rate was at 145 and Claire's at 150. Dr. Weber said they appear perfectly healthy.

We go back to the doctor in two weeks to have another ultrasound in which they will do detailed measurements again. I look forward to staring at my girls for 45 minutes.

I am beginning to have a lot of lower and upper back pain. Sleeping has become very uncomfortable. If this is the worst thing I can handle it!!!

We are thankful to have had a really easy pregnancy up to this point. God has blessed us so far with two healthy girls who have been very kind to their Mommy!

The Big Kick

Matt felt his very first kick tonight. I wish all of you could have seen his face. It was priceless. It made me want to cry. You can just see in his eyes how excited he is and glad to finally be able to feel all of the things I have been feeling for weeks.

Our little Claire provided the kick and boy was it a good one. She followed it up with another for Matt's enjoyment. It was a wonderful moment!

I also had my first baby shower this evening. The amazing women I work with put one together for me. We got a tub full of baby stuff and lots of diapers. I am so lucky to work with such wonderful and giving people. I enjoyed coming home to show Matt all the goodies. We are so thankful!

This will be my last post as a Missouri native.

Back Home Again in Indiana!!! Our girls will be born Hoosiers (in Missouri that means redneck or white trash....I am anxious to be back in Indiana where Hoosier means something much more wonderful)!!!

Week 22 Ultrasound

We had a wonderful appointment today. Once again, the girls are doing really well and moving all over the place. This time our doctor did the ultrasound and you can tell his skills are not that of an ultrasound technician. Dr. Durer loved watching them move all over the place although Claire maintained her shyness and wouldn't cooperate very much.

I am feeling the girls kick more and more each day. It is such a wonderful and amazing feeling. Sophia (Baby A) seems to be the really active one although I think Claire (Baby B) just chooses to kick her sister instead of me.

I had my first bad pregnancy experience last week. We drove to Indiana to close on our new house. After 9 hours of driving back and forth my body had enough and it took its furry out on my ankles or should I say cankles. WOW....not a pleasant viewing experience. I realized that I
need to start taking it a bit more easy. I have been keeping my feet up whenever possible and the swelling has subsided for now. Thank you to my Mom and sisters for their many prayers for this...it has given me some immediate relief and less anxiety!

We move this weekend to our new home in Noblesville. This will be a wonderful Valetine's Day. It is an amazing experience to know we are starting fresh in a new house with two little girls preparing to join us. It makes me cry just to think about it. God has definitely blessed us over and over again. I don't know what we have done to deserve all of this but I thank him dearly each and every day. We are so happy to be back in Indiana with our wonderful family and friends and look forward to sharing our precious little girls with each of you.

Love to all of you!

Week 21

I thought it was time to post another update on our baby girls. Not much has changed except my ever-expanding belly and my desire to have at least one candy bar per day. The babies continue to move around without causing their Mommy any discomfort. I am so thankful for that. I love the little kicks and somersaults. We look forward to the time when Matt can feel Sophia and Claire kick. He is very ready for that!

Sleeping has changed a little bit. I can't sleep in at all anymore and I find that I have so much energy the first half of the day. A huge change from my prior life. HA!

We are still amazed by the fact that God has blessed us with two little girls. Our excitement continues to grow. Especially since we know that on Feb 14th we are moving back to Indiana to start our new family. It is a change we have wanted since we moved to St Louis three years ago.

I would post a new belly picture but I am going to hold off so we can surprise our family with the drastic change since we saw them 6 weeks ago. They will be stunned and amazed...I know I am every day when I wake up :)

We continue to thank God for this amazing blessing. Pregnancy is an amazing process and one that I have come to love.

Love to all!
